One of the main parts of the Volvo Light Assembly is a Volvo cornering light. Volvo cornering lights are categorized in the same group as driving lamps and passing lights. What are cornering lights, exactly?

When replacing lamp or performing any lighting system service, it is advisable to disconnect the battery ground cable. Most exterior lamps are fairly simple to replace. Rear lamps are generally accessible from inside the trunk, while the lenses may have to be removed from the outside. Other parts that share the same category with Volvo cornering lights are Volvo headlamps. Since sealed-beam headlamps are standardized in design, removal and replacement procedures are similar for all cars. The lamps are held in place by retaining rings, and procedures for getting at these rings vary with differences in grille design and trim. In matters of headlamp aiming, there are three kinds of devices that can be used to check and adjust headlamp aim. These are mechanical airmers, photoelectric (optical) aimers, and aiming screens.

Regardless of which method is used to check, certain steps should be taken to prepare a vehicle. These apply if one wishes to replace one’s Volvo Cornering Light. For instance, excess ice and mud should be removed from under the fenders. Tires should be inflated to specified pressures. Lamp lenses should be cleaned while burned-out lamps should be replaced. No faulty wheel alignment or improper tracking should be in evidence and the car should be normally loaded too, preferably with a driver in the seat. Follow these steps closely and one is certain to proceed with the replacement process with no further problems.

Replacing a Volvo Cornering Light
Submitted by AnthonyF
Cornering lamps are lamps that are already steady-burning white lights which are mainly employed when the turn signals are operating in perfect and ideal accord to provide light in the direction of the turn. They are controlled by the turn signal switch but usually operate only when the headlamps are on.
