How do you reset the check engine light on a '97 Nissan Altima GXE? Answer See http://www.nissantalk.com/forum/ and click on the "1993-1997 generation one" discussion forum and locate "how to reset the ECU". I have to do this in order to smog my car. Remember, do not turn the enhine on, just turn the key until all the dash lights come on. Answer In addition, after you have done what has been said (the ignition switch being in the on position) you may remove the + terminal of the battery and put it back again. Switch off and start the car. Answer To reset the check engine light, you should take the car to a mechanic. It's possible that there may be soemthing wrong with the cars transmission. |
