How do you replace and install a new fuel pump on a 1997 Chevy Tahoe? In: Fuel Pumps, Chevy Tahoe Answer First begin with an empty fuel tank if possible. You will need to remove the two strapes that hold the fuel tank and cover pan in place. If you have fuel in the tank, you will need a jack to support the weight of the tank. You may have to remove the fuel filler hose at the end of your tank. There is not much slack in the fuel lines, so don't drop the tank to far. Only enough to reach the fuel pump located on the top of your tank. You will need a special tool to release the two fuel lines from your pump. (available at local auto parts store) The fuel pump screws off the tank, pull out and replace. First answer by ID2785355581. Last edit by ID2785355581. |
