Here is the new fuel pump assembly for the 1988 Plymouth Reliant station wagon--some
assembly required! You can use this as a rough guide if you have to do the
same at some point. The instructions that came in the book with the pump were only
generic and not very useful. However, they are right about one thing--cleanliness
is extremely important. You need a clean assembly area (what better than
kitchen table!), a clean fuel tank, a new fuel filter and a strainer sock. Otherwise
you will do this again soon, and that is not fun. Make notes about how your old pump came apart if you go this route. You will save yourself about half the price of buying a fully assembled pump. |
