Where exactly are the spark plugs located on a 2000 5.4 F150? Answer The 5.4 engine has 8 coils with the spark plug boot attached. The coil is 2" by 1 1/2" by 1" deep and is located under the fuel rail on the top of the engine. the coil is removed by unscrewing two small screws. Be careful when changing the plus asford has had a problem with the 5.4s blowing the plug and stripping the thread. My Mech uses locktite when he replaced the spark plug. We also cracked a coil 120.00 later Heat and time took its toll. You can buy the coils each from ford for apx 120. or aftermarket coils on ebay for 99.00 for 8 . Good luck. Check that the plugs need changing as I believe they are good for 150,000 |
